Introduction

Dear Student,

Eurocircuits is fully committed to helping and supporting European electronics students with their Electronic Projects during their academic careers. After all they are the future of the European electronics industry.

Today, students can set up a student account at Eurocircuits allowing them to order like a normal customer with the exception of receiving a student discount. Eurocircuits seeks to form a WIN-WIN partnership with electronic students by supplying the PCBs with a nice discount and receiving an article about this interesting project in return.

Eurocircuits is willing to go very far in supporting our European students. Thus, we have adapted our price calculation for students. For all our services and calculations up to quantities of 3 pieces, we offer our services at the level of direct production costs. Numbers up to 3 pieces are usually the maximum what a student needs for educational projects.

Since in the largest European countries we deliver transport included and in other countries we take into account a very modest transport cost, our total inclusive prices are at a very acceptable level.

This allows us to make a clear comparison with non-European suppliers, because with our deliveries there are no hidden costs for import administration, customs duties or post-clearance VAT and so on. What you see in our calculator (after your data has been analysed and Visualizer shows a green light) is what will show on the delivery note and on the invoice and that is the whole story. For an example see further under benefits.

In addition, the educational value of the Eurocircuits smart tools, the Visualizers, should not be underestimated. Just like all other Eurocircuits customers, students can use their account to upload their data as often as they wish and check whether they are doing well in terms of design rules for manufacturing. Only after the design is 100% OK do they order. As a result, the chances of a student having to order their PCB twice are very small, which also means that the student does not lose valuable time and thus possibly miss the project deadline. After all, we all know from when we were young and students that we only started our assignments at the very last minute.

Moreover, we as Eurocircuits are proud that we produce here in Europe, everything in our own factories and this according to European standards on environment, employment and ethics in general. We also pay our taxes here, thus contributing to our European prosperity and society. A social prosperity that makes it exactly possible for the students we want to help to bring their electronics studies to success in the best possible conditions.

Let’s have fun making electronics with future engineers!

Kind regards and good luck,

Dirk Stans
Managing Partner

Benefits

PCB Services

Eurocircuits is willing to support students by granting them a discount when ordering the PCBs to finish their project.

Note – A student account only allows transactions as a private person and does not allow business transactions (incl. VAT-number). If you want a company or university to pay the invoice of your order, it is important that you order via the business account of that company or university.

How does this work?

You start by creating a student account making use of your student ID. Once the registration of your account is validated, you can start ordering.

The discount is automatically shown in the calculator and deducted when you place your order.

The discount is calculated as follows:

  • All calculations up to 3 pieces result into direct production costs prices.
  • Calculation that do not stay within these 3 pieces are calculated as follows:
    • The part of your order value between 0-250€ achieves +/- 20% discount
    • The part of your order value between 250-500€ achieves +/- 10% discount
    • Every remaining value of your order > 500€ achieves no discount

Example

Let’s take an example calculated in the account of a student from the Netherlands.

PCB Visualizer tab

We calculate in the PCB Visualizer tab in the service PCB proto, a double-sided PCB of 100x80mm, do not change any technical parameters and want to know the price for 2 pieces.

The price for this is shown in the figure opposite. This price is expressed in € and already includes VAT because a student account is always a private account.

One can also clearly see here the concession Eurocircuits makes especially for our European students. Moreover, you can also clearly see when the boards are supposed to leave on transport to the customer, the estimated shipment date.

You can also see the same in the PCBA Visualizer tab if you would add assembly.

Summary tab

To save everything in the shopping basket and order effectively, you have to click through to the summary.

Here we can see the total overview of all items to be ordered, PCB and possibly assembly, as well as the transport costs. For the Netherlands these are 0€.

This gives you an immediate overview of the total costs for ordering. No hidden costs afterwards.

In the summary tab it is also possible to indicate that you want to check the final production data again before the PCB goes into production. The order then stops after preparation and an e-mail is sent informing you that the data are ready for checking. The customer then releases the final data and determines the start of production. An action not to be forgotten.

Workshops and Webinars given by Eurocircuits

Eurocircuits is willing to give a workshop and/or webinar to further support students in realising their electronic project or learning more about electronics in general.

Feel free to make your own request about a subject or check our list of possible subjects below.

List of possible subjects:

  • How to use our online Visualizer and editing Tools.
  • How we make a 4-layer PCB.
  • PCB Soldering.
  • The perfect design flow: from CAD to CAM.

Actions Required from the Student by Eurocircuits

Actions we request in return for the student discount you received:

Blogs

The student writes a blog in English after the project is finished describing what the project is about, how it progressed and more specifically the electronics that were needed to make it work (including pictures and/or videos).

This will be published on the Eurocircuits websites.

Note: All blogs will be published on the Eurocircuits websites and on the Eurocircuits social media platforms. In the Eurocircuits Newsletter they are mentioned and linked in a dedicated section of the Newsletter.

Eurocircuits Logo
marking-Editor-Select-Customer-Markings

The student adds the Eurocircuits logo + text ‘A PCB from www.eurocircuits.com’ in top or bottom silkscreen layers on all orders.

The Eurocircuits logo can be added on your PCB’s by making use of our Marking Editor.

The Eurocircuits logo is available as a feature and does not have to be uploaded.

Just click on it as indicated in the image on the right and the EC-logo will appear on your PCB.

You can then move it to the position of your choice.

If you are looking for our logo you can find it here.

You can find more information about Eurocircuits here.

Other actions we are interested in:

  • Posting news about the cooperation with Eurocircuits on your social media (twitter/facebook/linkedin/etc.…)
