PWR Racing Team: A Season of Success and Innovation

RT14e
In the 2023/2024 academic year, we took part in five editions of the Formula Student competition, achieving success in both the electric and autonomous classes. We started the season by participating in Formula Student Netherlands, where we reached the finals of the static Engineering Design Event, and also took part in dynamic competitions, finishing 15th in the general classification.
Our team competed in Formula Student Czech Republic and Germany in both autonomous and electric classes. In the Czech Republic, we achieved strong results, finishing 5th in the autonomous class and 15th in the electric class. We also managed to enter the Engineering Design finals and earned the Scrutineering Stars title for technical preparation. In Germany, we completed inspections and took 15th and 18th in Engineering Design. At our home edition, Formula Student Poland, we had our best performance, winning 1st in Business Plan Presentation, Autocross, and Efficiency and finishing 2nd Overall, marking a historic moment by finishing Endurance with an electric car for the first time.

The last edition this season was Formula SAE Italy, where we placed 8th in Autocross and 9th in both Engineering Design and Skid Pad. We finished 15th overall, closing the season on a high note.
We ended this challenging year by defending the title of the best Formula Student team in Poland. At each competition, we successfully passed technical inspections and took part in dynamic competitions. It gave us a lot of motivation for the next season we are preparing for.

Electronics in RT14e
The PCBs located all around our car were designed by members of our team. They include, for example Analogue to CAN module and Autonomous System Brake PCB. However, how do they work?

Analogue to CAN module was designed to convert analogue readings from the sensors and filter them. Processed signals are then sent via CAN bus, and this allows us to log the signals, receive them through telemetry, or display necessary data on the steering wheel. This PCB is essential due to the need to improve our vehicle every year, which is possible when we collect more data from the track.
Autonomous System Brake PCB is responsible for checking whether the car is in autonomous or manual driving mode. It monitors pneumatic brake system pressure, Autonomous System Master Switch position, and checks the selected Autonomous Mode mission. It also drives the Emergency System Brake.
To ensure that all of our systems work properly, our PCBs must be high quality. That is why we entrust the manufacturing of our project to Eurocircuits.
In the 2023/2024 season, they provided us with various PCBs. We are very grateful to Eurocircutis for their invaluable support and great cooperation.
