LiU Formula Students latest advancements

LiU Formula Student is the formula student association of Linköping University in Sweden. We comprise of over 100 passionate students, all striving for creating a competitive formula student racecar each year.

During the 2024 season, LiU Formula Student had its first fully functional electric vehicle that started all dynamic events. Following this achievement, our goal for this season is to evolve our car from last year by improving reliability, performance and usability. To accomplish our goal, multiple of our electrical systems have been redesigned for the latest version of the LiU Formula student car.

One of the newly refined systems is the datalogging system. The concept for the new system is to have two modules that get analog and digital signals from various sensors around the car, such as damper and wheel speed sensors. These signals then get sent over the CAN-bus so all other systems that need the data can access it. This is accompanied by an in house developed CAN logger that can log all CAN messages, making it easy to review the data gathered and making data driven decisions to improve the overall performance of the vehicle. These advancements would not be possible without the great support of Eurocircuits and their high-quality PCBs.
