ISEL Formula Student: 2025 Season Recap & Future Upgrades

To start we will resume our competition season, by far this 24/25 season was the most successful but not the easiest. We passed all scrutineering events marking history as the first car of IFS to pass all electrical scruts in both competitions we attended. Sadly, in FSPT 2025 we didn’t have enough remaining time to complete the Rain Test and Brake Test.
FSS 2025 we passed rain test but not brake test due to a mechanical error, even though we didn’t participate in dynamic events we are proud of ourselves for these achievements.
In terms of overall scores, we achieved a P8 in FSPT and P26 in FSS.

This we season planned to only fix problems that arose in our system while testing and to update certain components that we deemed outdated, or we disliked working with.
The biggest change in components was to transition from Arduino Micro Controller Unit to STM. This change helped us debug our programable system, finding problems easily and making software test simple.
The Vehicle Dynamical Control Unit (VDCU) was such a system that suffered such changes, changing from an Arduino Due MCU a STM MCU and we changed our philosophy of components adopting a smaller package.

Another challenge we tackled was to implement the Telemetry, a device that communicates the information from the car to our car Wirelessly. This helps live the debug the car while testing and during a dynamic event. We choose an ESP32 to use the ESP Now protocol to achieve the communication wirelessly.

These challenges were made possible with the partnership of Eurocircuits, as they provided their quality services and in record time while following tight tolerances designed by us.
As such we would like to thank Eurocircuits for their cooperation with us after many years and we look forward to achieving even higher achievements with them.
