ARUS Racing Team Accelerates Into a New Season

Achievements. Last season recap.
The 2024/25 season represented a major step forward fot he team. Thanks to the effort of every member, we pushed our technology to the next level, achieving a significant leap in quality. The ART-25 featured the first carbon fiber monocoque chassis ever manufactured in Andalusia and a 4WD system.

In the summer, we attended Formula Student Spain, Formula Student Netherlands, and Formula Student Germany. Our hard work translated into results, including 3rd place in the Business Plan and 2nd place in Cost and Manufacturing at FS Spain. Furthermore, we reached a historic milestone for the team by scoring our first-ever points in the Driverless category at FSG.

Facing a new season. Introduction of goals
As we move into a new season, the team remains motivated and is willing to compete. Based on the feedback and experience gained from last summer, our primary objective is to increase overall performance. To achieve this, we have implemented an ambitious weight reduction strategy across all departments, ensuring that every component of the new car is optimized for maximum efficiency and speed.
The AMS is the main control unit of our Accumulator. As we utilize high-energy Li-ion cylindrical cells, safety is critical and reliability is a must. As such we must constantly monitor their voltage and temperature, to not pass thresholds, with precision.
Achieving such precision this year, we made a significant architectural leap. We transitioned from an Arduino-based MCU to an STM32 platform. This upgrade is a game-changer for our embedded systems team; it provides advanced debugging capabilities and higher processing power, allowing us to identify and resolve system bottlenecks that were previously hidden.

In parallel, we have launched a new Hydrogen Department to stay at the forefront of sustainable racing technology. This season, our goal is to compete in the Concept Challenge at both Formula Student Austria and FS Alpe Adria.
Eurocircuits Partnership. Dashboard PCB
Despite the constant evolution of ARUS, one thing remains unchanged: none of these achievements would be possible without the support of Eurocircuits.
Eurocircuits continues to play a key role in our development process. By providing industry-leading PCB fabrication and responsive technical support, they have helped us enhance the overall quality and reliability of our electronics. Their commitment to fast lead times is crucial for our tight calendar.
This year, we have designed a new Dashboard PCB that serves as the central hub for the ART-26’s communication network. This design features the ability to monitor four independent CAN lines, processing critical data from across the entire vehicle. The board manages information flow, routing real-time data to the driver display and the telemetry modem.

Additionally, we have integrated an SD card module for data logging; information can be downloaded from a USB port. A key improvement is the inclusion of SDC (Shutdown Circuit) stages monitoring, as it allows us to quickly identify and locate errors while debugging.
To conclude, from ARUS, we want to thank all the support Eurocircuits brings to us. The superior reliability and high-standard craftsmanship of their boards have permitted us to compete at the highest level.
