GreenTeam Stuttgart: United for Electric Racing Excellence
The GreenTeam of the University of Stuttgart is a Formula Student team dedicated to building an electric race car since 2009.
In the last season, we had the opportunity to use PCBs from Eurocircuits for our steering wheel and our ms_AD boards. The AD board allows for the connection and conversion of digital and analog signals, sending the signal to the CAN bus. This makes it one of the most versatile and important boards in the entire package. Eurocircuits provides us with the highest reliability and longevity of the PCBs through top-notch quality and customization to meet the needs of our race car.
We look forward to continuing this great collaboration in the next season.
The racing team of the University of Stuttgart is a Formula Student team founded in 2005. In 2009, after deciding to no longer build two cars with one team, the GreenTeam was established. Since then, the Racing Team has competed in the combustion class and the GreenTeam in the electric class. Together, both teams have participated in a total of 111 competitions, achieving 39 overall victories, 15 second places, and 19 third places. Additionally, they have claimed the world championship title 11 times, bringing it home to Stuttgart.
With the announcement of the exclusion of combustion engines at Formula Student Germany, resulting in the loss of the largest event, we decided to merge the two teams of the University of Stuttgart. Starting this season, we will work together as one team to build an electric race car. We have gained extensive experience in designing and manufacturing over 30 race cars with both electric motors and combustion engines, and now we can combine the strengths of both teams.
Our new season began in early October. During the design and construction phase, we redesigned our Hall PCB and developed a new overcurrent method using PCBs from Eurocircuits. As the new year began, we entered the manufacturing phase, and in the coming months, we plan to lay our wiring harness and fabricate and test the PCBs.
