Running Snail Racing Team

Since 2004, the Running Snail Racing Team of OTH Amberg-Weiden has been participating in Formula Student competitions across Europe. In 2013, we achieved a major revolution by transitioning to an electric drive, successfully implementing our self-developed electric race car in 2015. In 2018, we reached our biggest success to date, securing the second place in the world ranking. Since then, we have been consistently striving to build on that success, making significant progress in the current season.

At the Formula Student competition in Most, Czech Republic, we secured the second place in the Acceleration and Skidpad disciplines, as well as the third place in Autocross. Unfortunately, we couldn’t complete the Endurance, but overall, we finished in the ninth place in the final standings.

The second event at Hockenheimring, FSG, proved to be successful. We successfully completed the Endurance, earning the seventh place in that discipline.
Overall, we can reflect on a 13th place in Autocross, seventh place in Endurance, and eighth place in Efficiency. This resulted in an overall ranking of 18th out of a total of 70 participating teams.

The last event in Croatia, FS Alpe Adria, had a mixed start but ended with a significant success – third place in the Endurance discipline. Although we could only participate in one dynamic discipline at this event, we achieved the eighth place in the overall standings.

All these successes would not have been possible without our reliable circuit boards, mostly provided by Eurocircuits. We were supported with circuit boards for the following components: TSAL, Precharge, Telemetry, Discharge, and AMS. We are proud to report that all boards worked flawlessly throughout the entire duration of the events.
