SEMI-FLEX integrates a defined bend zone into a standard FR-4 multilayer PCB. The bending is performed during installation to achieve the required 3D geometry. Once in place, the PCB remains mechanically stable throughout operation.
Within defined limits, the PCB functions not only as an electrical interconnect carrier but also as a structural element of the installation geometry.
Designing with BGAs for manufacturability and cost
Author: Saar Drimer/Published on: 09 September 2021 Designing PCBs with ball-grid array (BGA) packages on them can be tricky; getting them manufactured can sometimes be even trickier! Here we’ll discuss what to consider when designing with BGAs in a way that makes them easier to manufacture and often also cheaper. Important: all figures in this […]
Author: Saar Drimer/Published on: 25 February 2025 We have recently introduced the HDI pool, enabling our customers to design and have us manufacture and assemble PCBs with BGAs down to 0.4mm pitch. Developing this service required testing to make sure our manufacturing process is robust for all types of designs that we may receive. Here […]
Author: Claudia Mallok/Published on: 14 October 2025 Partial HDI technology in the HDI poolEfficient solutions for complex design challenges More and more electronic designs include individual components with very fine pitches – such as MicroBGAs, CSPs, or two-row QFNs. These components originate from mobile applications and are increasingly used in IoT-enabled and low-power systems. Standard […]
Introduction The HDI guidelines help designers unlock the full potential of the Eurocircuits HDI pool. They provide practical insights, examples, and rules that make it easier to use microvias effectively in cost‑efficient, fast‑to‑produce PCB designs. left
Generic parts are defined by their characteristics rather than a manufacturer’s part number (MPN).
However, they still need to have a number (the GPN) that can be added to a BOM in the MPN column. This allows for the part to be automatically identified when uploading the BOM data, in Eurocircuits case this will be performed by the PCBA Visualizer.
Our new HDI pool allows customers to use microvias between layers L1-L2 and L2-L3 (or, alternatively, L6-L7 and L7-L8). Since the PCB is manufactured with our standard technology parameters, has two microvia runs, and the HDI is only applied to a part of the board, our solution, sometimes called ‘partial’ or ‘hybrid’ HDI, is cheaper than ‘full’ HDI. So when we want to use a single fine-pitch BGA – that perhaps comes in no other package – it doesn’t necessarily mean a very expensive board. In this article we’ll cover some techniques our customers may use to maximise the use of what the HDI pool can offer.
PCB Configurator User Guides 1 1 left The Advanced options section allows you to select from a range of additional options to be applied during the manufacture of your PCB(s). IMPORTANT Selecting any of these options may increase the price of your PCB. Selecting some options will trigger a warning to update or change parameters/values…
PCB Configurator User Guides 0 1 left The Technology section provides options for selecting the technology of your PCB which will then determine the Technology class of your PCB design. Full Analysis If you upload data with full analysis, then the default values will be selected based on the layers defined in your data. These…
